Mission Statement

Strengthening and supporting the relationship among NSM alumni, NSM undergraduates, and the University of Houston.

Vision

NSMAA is a University of Houston alumni association committed to strengthening the relationship between alumni and UH and to advancing the interest and promoting the welfare of UH.

NSMAA Scholarships

For the 2008-2009 school year, we awarded over $58,000 in scholarships to qualified students in all six departments. Applications can be obtained through the dean’s office or online.

What we do for our alumni

Organize social events for alumni to interact and network, such as happy hours, football tailgates and our annual Gathering of Friends dinner

What we do for students

Provide scholarships for incoming freshmen, undergraduates and graduate students. Scholarship recipients are determined by the NSMAA Board. Participate in recruitment activities for potential students. Organize workshops to help students with resume and interviewing skills to prepare them for life after graduation.

What we do for the Community

Science is Fun workshops for children. Participate in Operation School Supplies. We fund the McMaster’s Second Grade field trip to the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Host on campus tours of the Science facility to local high school science clubs.
